The online calculator shows how our rate cap proposal affects your rates
We are hosting a virtual public hearing at 5 p.m., Monday, November 14, on proposed changes to our fares that will reduce costs for many riders. Click here to try our new online calculator this will allow you to see how the rate proposal can change your rate and reduce your costs.
Under our fare proposition, no passenger ever overpays, and our most frequent passengers – who rely on the system – pay less. The proposed fare system introduces a daily and weekly fare cap where no one will pay more than $6 per day or $20 per week for unlimited rides.
This means that you will no longer have to buy daily, weekly or 30-day tickets in advance. You pay as you go with the value stored on the TAP cards – and when you reach the price cap, you pay no more.
Here are the new proposed rates. Under the proposal, transfers are replaced by a price cap.
You can find more information about the proposed rate change at www.metro.net/simplefares.
