Sustainability is more important than ever. In a survey conducted by Gartner, over 50% of respondents with corporate brands rated sustainability as “very important” and 30% as “somewhat important”, meaning that over 80% of companies are focusing on sustainability.

Logistics and transportation is a critical area where companies can use automation to reduce GHG emissions. With this in mind, LogiNext, an end-to-end logistics automation platform, has launched a carbon footprint calculator that will help companies better plan and achieve their sustainability goals, it said. he said in a statement.

An average LogiNext business customer in North America would have a fleet size of 300 and each vehicle would travel an average of 70 miles per day. LogiNext’s route optimization algorithm and overall planning helps a company reduce emissions by up to 20%. For the customer above, the annual emission reduction amounts to 0.2 million tons. This figure is derived from simulation results from LogiNext as well as standardized GHG emissions figures from the US Environmental Protection Agency, he said.

“Reducing GHG emissions by making logistics operations more efficient has been a top priority for most of the companies we speak with around the world. Along with route optimization, LogiNext’s capabilities such as capacity utilization and order consolidation have helped companies reduce their fleet size by up to 25%.Essentially, brands are able to do much more with the same resources by digitally transforming their operations,” says Dhruvil Sanghvi, CEO of LogiNext.

Brands such as KFC, BurgerKing, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Singapore Post, Cargo Expreso and MaltaPost are among more than 200 brands in over 50 countries leveraging the capabilities of the LogiNext platform to digitize, optimize and automate their logistics processes. Using all of this historical data on reducing carbon footprint through automation, LogiNext has developed a calculator that will help companies assess what kind of impact they will be able to have by using the LogiNext platform.

Several variables are necessary to obtain an accurate measurement: size of the fleet, average number. orders per day, national transport regulations, driver compliance, etc.

LogiNext’s end-to-end platform is used by companies across all industries: F&B, CPG, Retail & eCommerce, CEP (Courier, Express and Parcel) and Transportation & Logistics. Each segment will have its own nuance in which the calculations will differ, but there is huge scope to have a positive impact all around by introducing digitization and automation, he said.
