DGB N: The Group unveils a new advanced carbon calculator and a carbon management tool

  • Carbon footprint analysis

  • Tailored recommendations on how best to use offsets

  • Transparency, measurement and delivery on a single platform

Dutch Green Business Group NV (“DGB” or “the Group”) (Euronext: DGB), a leading company in the field of reforestation and carbon offsetting, is proud to announce the launch of its new carbon management platform CO2.expert. The platform allows retail and business customers to measure their carbon footprint and provides recommendations on how to address it with carbon offsets.

The CO2.expert platform has been developed to provide an accurate, reliable and consistent analysis of carbon dioxide emissions, combined with a user-friendly, fast and efficient interface. CO2.expert brings the entire carbon management process together in one platform to help businesses and individuals track carbon emissions and enable them to take immediate action.

It allows companies to measure the carbon impact of their business activities and identify the activities that produce the most carbon. Users enter information about their business activities such as transportation, energy consumption, fuel type, and materials. The platform is fully compliant with the internationally recognized GHG protocol standard and helps businesses become carbon neutral in four simple steps:

  1. Measure and understand.

  2. Reduce and avoid

  3. Compensation for residual emissions

  4. Present and disclose

The platform is designed in such a way that multiple users in a business can provide information for better monitoring and understanding of where the biggest carbon impacts are. The platform not only examines the built-in carbon savings associated with the reuse, redeployment and recycling of materials, but it also takes transport into consideration.

The CO2.expert platform also contains a user-friendly checklist to help companies take all the steps necessary to achieve PAS 2060, the internationally recognized specification for carbon neutral status.

ESG reporting

All data, graphs and certificates of CO2.expert are exportable, which allows users to include them for internal or external ESG purposes, corporate reporting, attesting to compliance with the criteria required for green financing, presentations to investors and listing documents.

The information provided to users on the platform delivers:

  • Comparability – it allows users to gain actionable insights and benchmark themselves against other industry players

  • Scalability – new locations can be added as businesses grow for reduced enterprise-wide impact

  • Efficiency – it reduces the effort and time to calculate your carbon footprint

To ensure quality, DGB worked with several Dutch companies specializing in carbon modeling and sustainability consulting to develop the platform. DGB is working on building a network of distributors made up of ESG consultants who will also have access to the platform.

Commenting on the calculator’s launch, Peter van der Wal, impact consultant at DGB, said:We are excited to provide our customers with a revolutionary new platform that allows them to clearly measure their carbon footprint and understand the best ways to reduce it. Whether used by businesses or individuals, the calculator is easy to use, transparent, and scalable, providing certainty when so much in the carbon space is intangible. “
