Azerbaijan plans to introduce online system in all courts in 2022

The online court system is currently used in 77, i.e. two-thirds of the courts operating in Azerbaijan and it is expected to be introduced in all courts in the country in 2022, Fikrat Mammadov, chairman of the Judicial and Legal Council of Azerbaijan, adviser of State Justice 1st Class, says, Trend reports.

According to Mammadov, the changes to the legislation, especially those that entered into force last month, have created conditions for the improvement of judicial activities, including the elimination of bureaucracy, a swift and timely review of cases.

“In addition, these changes have further expanded the use of the online court information system by courts. Of particular importance in the context of COVID-19 is the creation of opportunities to conduct legal proceedings via a videoconferencing system, as an additional guarantee of transparency. pandemic, ”he noted.

The adviser added that as part of the differential determination of the rates of court costs, a calculator was prepared and posted on a single portal of courts, web resources of the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Court, as well as a special methodological manual which allows the costs to be calculated precisely and automatically.

“In order to ensure the transparency of judicial activity, an online publication of all court decisions is planned, while they are announced by a special program for the preservation of privacy. The creation of an online search engine for these decisions makes everyone aware of practical justice and plays an important role in identifying systemic errors, ”he added.

“At the same time, an additional guarantee of transparency, the distribution of cases between judges is carried out via the online system. It is also under constant surveillance, ”concluded Mammadov.
